The Restaurant

Altitude Chophouse & Brewery is located on the corner of 2nd and Garfield Streets, in the heart of historic Downtown Laramie. Our décor is warm and comfortable, with a cozy mountain theme. We like to think our menu offers something for everyone, from choice steaks and fresh fish to half pound burgers and hand tossed pizzas. Sampling our handcrafted microbrews is a highlight of visiting Altitude. At Altitude we focus on freshness, in the food we serve, the beer we brew and the ever-changing dessert and bar specials we offer.

Owners Greg Smith & Karen Robillard

Greg Smith and Karen Robillard opened Altitude’s doors in November, 1999. With 36 years of combined experience, Karen and Greg set out to offer Laramie a restaurant and brewery that combined sophisticated food and drink choices with a casual atmosphere.

Greg began his restaurant career in 1985, when he purchased Café Jacques, a fine dining bistro in downtown Laramie. He opened Lovejoy’s Bar & Grill in 1994, a successful restaurant he and Karen still operate. Karen spent several years in the marketing field before settling into the restaurant lifestyle.

Karen and Greg believe in taking a hands-on approach to running their restaurants. On most visits to Altitude, you will see Karen in the dining room, while Greg is behind the scenes in the kitchen. Their lives are centered around the hospitality business and they thrive on the busy, social atmosphere their restaurants provide.
